The 2008.1 Philly.NET Code Camp has been announced (details at the bottom of
this page), and I am very excited that they have asked Philly ALT.NET to organize an entire track for the camp. Due to the popularity of past Code Camps, they are expanding this year - there will be 400 seats available, and there will be 8 tracks with 6 sessions each.
Registration will open December 15th, and the official schedule should be available then, but to give you a taste, here is how the ALT.NET track is shaping up:
- ALT.NET In Practice [Panel]
- ASP.NET MVC - A New Way To Build Web Apps [Jeff Deville]
- Fundamental Domain-Driven Design [Dave Laribee]
- Decoupling Your Design - Dependency Injection with Windsor [Jeremy Jarrell]
- Design Patterns [Don Demsak]
- Behavior Driven Development: The Evolution of TDD [Brian Donahue and Steve Eichert]
Keep your eye on the
Philly.NET web site, and get on their
mailing list (or
Philly ALT.NET's Mailing List) for more details!
By the time you read this, the meeting might be tonight. I have been so busy lately, I have really been neglecting my blog. The next meeting of Philly ALT.NET is going to be an Open Spaces style meeting, with attendees deciding the topics, and a very conversational tone. Because the group will be smaller than your typical Open Spaces conference, it is likely we use things like a
Fish Bowl to focus conversation, and the "
35" game to vote on topics. I've done each of these in the past and they are not only fun, but effective for productive conversation. The meeting starts at 6PM in University City. Check out the
wiki page for details!
